Located 15 miles east of Seattle, picturesque Redmond, Washington is a city with an interesting past and an exciting future. Commonly recognized as the home of Microsoft, Linkedin, and Nintendo, Redmond has completely transformed itself into a technology hub. Redmond is usually hidden in the shadow of Seattle, however with a thriving economy, an incredible mix of urban and suburban amenities, and a convenient, central location, Redmond reflects the best that the Northwest has to offer.

Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages love this city. The largest part of the population is between the ages of 25 and 44, with an average of about 35. But ages 45 and up make a close second. That’s why Niche.com ranks Redmond as one of the best towns in Washington in which to retire. Nearly 10 percent of residents are over 65, and it ranks high on access to doctors, recreation, restaurants and more.

Although homes in Redmond are not cheap, its real estate market offers a nice alternative to Seattle’s inflated home prices. You will get a larger home and a larger lot for the same price as a smaller home in Seattle, which is why so many people look to live here.

Last month (August 2020) the average sales price for a home in Redmond was $990K, up 10% from last year and an average of $426/sq ft. Homes are currently selling for 101% of asking price, which means it is currently a sellers market with an influx of buyers ready to purchase.
